Making a Difference in Afterschool
After-school programs can have a positive impact on academic, social and emotional outcomes. Not all programs do, however, which makes quality a top priority for practice and policy. At Making a Difference in After School - Measuring and Improving After School Quality, Nicole Yohalem and Bob Granger of the William T. Grant Foundation presented at a Forum hosted by the California Afterschool Network in Sacramento focused on improving the quality of after-school programs. Following their presentation, they met with the state’s Quality Committee to provide feedback on a draft assessment tool being introduced in the state and advise on efforts to strengthen the technical assistance infrastructure in the state.
You can see their powerpoints below. A videotape of the event will be available at: http://www.afterschoolnetwork.org/3-17_quality_workshop
